The Karuna system of Reiki was developed by William L. Rand. It’s based on chanting and toning in order to deepen the healing process. As a physical carrier wave for the Karuna Reiki, the vibration of the voice is an energy for it to travel on causing healing energies to penetrate more deeply into the cells and tissues.
Karuna is the motivating quality of all enlightened beings who are working to end suffering on Earth. When one develops Karuna, not only are they helping and healing themselves, they are sharing in the healing and helping of others on this Earth as well. As we help others and aid them in their healing process, all beings benefit.
If you have completed Level III Reiki, you can take Karuna Level I.
In Karuna Level One you’ll:
- Develop an understanding of chanting and toning with symbols
- Receive an attunement, a gentle process, passed from a Karuna Master Teacher, to enable you to use and activate Karuna
- Receive four sacred symbols to use in your Karuna practice
- Be a part of a community engaging in discussion, observation, reflection and practical application of Reiki skills

- Accredited Karuna Level One course certificate upon completion of eight hours of training
- An extensive student course manual to support your Reiki practice

Course Structure:
Our Karuna course can be facilitated in two ways. Choose either a one eight-hour day or two five-hour days PLUS attendance to 2x Light Of Wellness meditation groups. This course is tailored to make up the required 12 hours for the Reiki Association and allows students to integrate the teachings.
Prerequisite: Must have completed Usui Reiki Masters Level
